1 page.  I wrote this poem while helping an Afghani refugee family who had a newborn son at Christmas time.  This father with the weight of the world on his shoulders made me think of Joseph and how he must have felt taking Mary & baby Jesus in the middle of the night to flee to Egypt for safety.  Note: **The washed-out watermark in the background of the poem is the painting "The Flight Into Egypt" by Eugene Alexis Girardet (died 1907.)
